Funding opportunities for collaboration with University of Minnesota

Funding is available for translatlantic workshops, travel fellowships for PhD students and Postdocs, and translatlantic educational activities. Proposals are accepted starting from 15 March, and will be evaluated on a rolling basis.

The NOCC-program (Norwegian Centennial Chair) supports research and educational interactions between the University of Minnesota (UM), the University of Oslo (UiO) and the Norwegian University of Life Sciences (NMBU).

Funding for the development of Transatlantic Workshops

Transatlantic workshops are intended to facilitate new collaborations in research between the three universities. Further, in anticipation of a new call for larger, transatlantic research grant proposals in 2015, these workshops could serve as a platform to develop ideas for proposals for new collaborative research  programs.

The NOCC program supports any research but priority will be given to areas that are of significance to the strategic priorities of the UiO, NMBU and UM.

Current priority areas/initiatives at the University of Oslo are:

Proposals will be accepted starting March 15, 2015 and reviewed on a rolling basis until available funding has been exhausted.

Norwegian Centennial Travel Fellowships for Ph.D. students and Postdocs

Travel fellowships of up to $5,000 will be available to graduate students and postdocs to cover some costs associated with transatlantic travel Norway (NMBU, UiO) and Minnesota (UM) for research purposes. Priority will be given for travel that promotes existing collaboration or could lead to new interactions between research groups.

Applications will be accepted at any time.

White Papers for Innovative Ideas for Transatlantic Educational Activities

We are interested in innovative ideas for teaching and learning that would involve the three partner universities. If you have an idea, please submit a brief outline of the activity (e.g. course, summer school), objectives, learning outcomes, target student groups and what would be required to implement this activity.
