The PhD Forum at the Institute of Health and Society works to encourage mutual learning and cooperation between PhD students from all the different departments.

The PhD Forum board arranges PhD symposiums as well as informal gatherings for PhD candidates at the institute. We wish to use the PhD forum as a communication network and as a collective voice representing the PhD candidates.
More than 60% of Norwegian PhD students agreed with the sentence “Being a PhD candidate is a lonely job” (NIFU STEP, Rapport 38/2009). We aim to collectively make the PhD experience a social one.
