Competence in Nursing

Professional development in nursing is seen and materialises in evidence based and appropriate deliberations and actions. Competence is reflected in patients' coping and self-care, in nurses’ competencies, and evolving practice models in health care.

About the group

The research studies relates to patient, nurse and nursing services; professional development and patient education. The foci include structural conditions, processes, and results that contribute to explain:

  • characteristics of competence
  • phenomena associated with competence
  • relationships that strengthen, maintain or weaken competence
  • development and deployment of interventions
