Osteoarthritis (OA) is the most prevalent rheumatic disease and a leading cause of disability among older adults. In a survey of one Norwegian community, the prevalence and burden of OA was considerable. However, the quality of OA care has not been evaluated in this cohort and the limited available international studies suggest sub-optimal care.
