New semester at Cal(UC.Berkeley)

It is hard to depict the picture of student's life at UC.Berkeley. Different people have different forms of survival in the diversified and prestigious university. UC.Berkeley is a place where different wisdoms collide and diverse thoughts mingle. Students here tend to think independently in terms of creativity and innovation. Every Cal student is equipped with a certain trait which enables him to do excellent in the assignment he is bound to. 

Bunches of student unions provide plenty of opportunities for both local and international students. Here shyness is significantly less favorable and being bold and outgoing seems important in many aspects. No one will scorn an independent and brave student if he could articulate his thoughts and opinions. At Berkeley the only thing  a student can do is to express himself completely by every means he can. 

At lectures professors usually encourage students to show theirs opinions and students obviously are happy to do that. An active and open atmosphere at classes gives students sufficient space to show their faculties and thoughts. As an international student I try to make my voice heard in a class although it is difficult at the beginning, however, things turn much better gradually. 

There are also many interesting speeches ongoing in the campus every week which are given by famous people in US or in the world. Resources are always available if one is eager to explore. Time is going so fast at UC.Berkeley because there are just too much things awaiting our learning. Being candid and alert will bring a lot unexpected benefits. I sincerely suggest the prospective students to maximize everyday at Cal by learning from professors and interacting with peer students because professors are amazingly knowledgable and most of students are strongly motivated. It could be an effective way to understand the effect of elite education and american campus life.

Study is not easy. A huge amount of readings are distributed every week and one has to be fully prepared to follow the high tempo here, however, this sort of high tempo could push one to learn more according to my comprehension. Sociology department at UC.Berkeley is considered the most prestigious and the best sociology department in US or even in the world. Professors here are doubtless wonderful, hence learning is interesting and challenging. I profoundly believe that one will get much more than one expect after finishing a semester at Cal. 

Finally as a response to my previous blog I will briefly mention outlets around San francisco. There are actually several big outlets in this area and I have been to one of them which is called Great Mall and it is located at Milpitas which is more or less one hour from Berkeley by Bart ( something like T-bane in Norway).
