The Department of Biostatistics performs research and teaching in biostatistics, and provides guidance on statistics to Faculty researchers.
Teaching at the Department
Teaching at the Department is provided to the professional study programme in medicine, Master's programmes in international health, health administration and nutrition. The department is also heavily involved in the research education at the Faculty of Medicine, both through teaching and statistical advising.
Research at the Department
The Department's research includes statistical method research that is highly relevant to a number of medical issues (measurement uncertainty, survival analysis, causal inference, high-dimensional models, stochastic models), as well as research on statistical genomics, system biology, and the epidemiology of noncommunicable and infectious diseases.
