The aim of the thematic area is to identify biomarkers of health and to understand how dietary components exert their beneficial effects, related to the development and treatment of disease, and to detect novel nutrient-regulated cellular pathways.
The overall vision for the cluster is to develop better nutrition therapy for patients. The patients can benefit from improved nutrition therapy by reduced morbidity and mortality, and better quality of life, and this can eventually lead to reduced hospital costs for society.
- Identify biomarkers of health and to understand how dietary components exert their beneficial effects, related to the development of disease
- Investigate the effect of different nutrition intervention therapy in patients
- Develop new methods for monitoring health effects in dietary intervention studies such as nutrition assessment and compliance, sensitive methods for measurement of biomarkers such as transcriptomics, lipidomics, specific blood cells response and metabolomic profiling and DNA damage and repair.
