Our research is primarily focused on optimizing nutritional status among vulnerable population groups as well as among patients with chronic diseases. We reach out both domestically as well as to Southern Africa.
About the group
Our research is primarily focused on:
- Perinatal nutrition, encompassing optimalization of nutrition to pregnant women and their offsprings after delivery. Special emphasis is given to small children, in order to improve their growth and cognitive function. A major part of this research takes place in Western-, Southern- and Eastern Africa.
- Selective patient-categories with a focus to optimize their nutritional status. Examples include adults undergoing blood stem cell transplantation and adults with refractory epilepsy.
- Identifying determinants of skeletal muscle function among patients with spinal cord injury.
- Understanding the impaired physical function to improve the diagnostic accuracy among patients with chronic fatigue syndrome/myalgic encephalopathy.
