About the group

Glycobiology in relation to diet-related diseases is the main theme of our research. Glycoconjugates comprise a wide group of molecules; our focus is on the proteoglycans.

We study changes in proteoglycan structure and distribution in the endothelium and the kidneys in relation to diabetes. We also study proteoglycans in relation to inflammatory processes and atherosclerosis.

We also study nutritional-related health challenges in persons with intellectual disabilities.
