Glio- and Neurotransmitters
The group is interested in basic mechanisms of transmitter release from neurons and astrocytes, transmitter inactivation and metabolism, and how this is affected by brain pathology, especially Parkinson’s disease.

About the group
The methodology is based on morphological and immunohistichemical (confocal and electron microscopy) investigations of brain tissue, both in vivo and in vitro - brain slice - examinations.
At present the group consists of one postdoc, two PhD students and three medical students.
