Research interests

My research interest lies in single-neuron and neuronal network dynamics. Currently, I am working with biophysically detailed neuron models and investigating the effects of genetic factors on neuron firing. Especially, I am interested in the schizophrenia-associated genes and their impact on neuronal communication. In addition, my previous and ongoing work includes studies on structure and dynamics of complex networks, especially neuronal networks. My work includes analyzing the factors that contribute to spontaneous synchronized spiking in neuronal networks. I'm especially interested in the effect of network structure and synaptic mechanisms on the emergence of network bursts. In addition, I am interested in methods for quantifying the complexity in structure and dynamics of complex systems and graph generation algorithms.

Research groups
