School of Health Innovation was recently launched and the aim is to teach young researchers practical innovation and entrepreneurial skills. It is an initiative by the University of Oslo, NTNU, Karolinska Institute and the Nansen Neuroscience Network. Registration is now open and the deadline is 12 December 2016. An international group of researchers, including Tom Hemming Karlsen and his team at the Norwegian PSC Research Centre, have worked on identifying the key to the communication betwen the gut flora and the body.
We congratulate two JIRC group leaders, Johanna Olweus and Kjetil Taskén, on receiving funding from the Norwegian Cancer Society. The two projects combined received a sum of 13.5 mill NOK.
We congratulate JIRC Deputy Director Kjetil Taskén on receiving the King Olav Vs Price for Cancer Research 2016. Professor Taskén is awarded this prize for his work on immunotherapy.
