Advanced bioinformatics and development of novel imaging tools for cancer research
The main objective of this programme is to use and develop bioinformatic and biostatistical tools in analyses of clinical and biological data.
Large scale technology generates great amounts of data that must be processed for extracting relevant information. Reliable tools for dissection and handling of data are therefore of great importance for the outcome of large scale research.
Central activities in this programme
- Address the specific statistical and computational issues raised by the scientific activities in the centre
- Development of statistical models, inference procedures and tools useful in a wider biomedical context
- Use of bioinformatics in filtration of genome information
- Development of image analysis tools for nucleomics and nucleotyping
