Services
The core facility offers a broad portfolio of services related to bioinformatics and data management, and has a helpdesk function that is connected to ELIXIR Norway.
With respect to analyses, we perform a range of standardized methods. However, we also perform more complex integrative analyses, and can offer the development of custom-made analysis strategies when needed.
With respect to project management, we offer consultation services related to project design as well as storage and analysis of sensitive data.
The core facility has knowledgeable data stewards which can guide and support users during the development of data management plans required by the Norwegian Research Council.
Examples of services we would like to highlight are:
- Variant calling on exome data from tumor and normal tissue
- Differential gene expression analysis with two or more groups
- Protein structure modelling and analysis
- Single-cell RNA analysis with and without protein markers
- Genome assembly from long-read data
- Access to databases and web-based services
- Generation of a data management plan for new projects
- Consultation on best practices
- Consultation on management of sensitive data

Our ELIXIR helpdesk function is connected to ELIXIR Norway. We offer technical support e.g. when using national analysis platforms like Galaxy, answer questions regarding the use of specific software, and provide consultation regarding data management.
