ERC Consolidator Grant
Consolidator Grants (CoG) support individual researchers of any age and nationality who pursue groundbreaking research in all scientific and technological areas. Deadline: 7 February 2018
Who can apply?
ERC Consolidator Grants aim to support researchers at the stage at which they are consolidating their own independent research team and/or strengthen independent and excellent new individual research teams that have been recently created.
Eligible Principal Investigators (PI) have completed their PhD 7-12 years ago. Extensions can be accepted in certain documented circumstances.
It is expected that the PI has shown research independence, e.g. by being the main author of several important publications and by having a promising track record of early achievements.
What kind of project?
ERC encourages proposals that cross disciplinary boundaries, present pioneering ideas that address new and emerging fields or applications, as well as introduce unconventional and innovative approaches. High risk/high gain project proposals are welcomed.
CoG does not require international cooperation and the only evaluation criterion is scientific excellence.
Funding and duration
One can apply for up to € 2 million (in some circumstances up to € 2,75 million) for a period of up to 5 years.
Call text and additional information is published in the EU Research Participant Portal.
