Multiple Funding Opportunities under Novo Nordisk Foundation

The Novo Nordisk Foundation’s vision is to improve the lives of people through better health, education and the development of a knowledge-based sustainable society. 

 

The Foundation awards grants annually across many different areas, which are announced on the Foundation’s website. The grant recipients are decided in open competition, and the Foundation’ expert committees review all applications.

For 2020 and 2021, Novo Nordisk Foundation has announced calls for various health and medical fields. Some of the more relevant are given hereunder:

Excellence Emerging Investigator Grant within Endocrinology and Metabolism – Nordic Region seeks to support and strengthen the development of young and promising research leaders, and to promote Nordic research at a high international level.

Ascending Investigator Grant within Endocrinology and Metabolism – Nordic Region is to stimulate the continued development of excellent research leaders, and promote Nordic research at a high international level. 

Deadline: 08 January, 2021

 

Distinguished Investigator Grant within Endocrinology and Metabolism – Nordic Region seeks to support outstanding professors with ambitious projects within endocrinology and metabolism to understand the human organism and the mechanisms underlying health and disease at a basic and clinical level. 

Deadline: 08 January, 2021

 

Research in long-term health consequences of COVID-19 illness seeks to support collaborative projects that investigate the nature, incidence, distribution of long-term symptoms, and their underlying pathogenesis in COVID-19 patients as well as to develop and test treatments for long-term COVID-19 illness.

Deadline: 12 January 2021

 

New Exploratory Research and Discovery (NERD) Programme 2021 is to support creative, daring, and ambitious researchers within the natural and technical sciences, at any career stage after obtaining the PhD degree. The grant is aimed at supporting a single principle investigator (PI) with ample funding and a long time horizon, providing the required long-term stability and continuity to explore truly exceptional ideas with potential application within the life sciences, health sciences or biotechnology.

Pioneer Innovator Grants is a stimulus fund established to accelerate commercialization of research findings and development of novel technologies within the health sciences.

Deadline: 15 March 2021
