EIC Pathfinder Challenges

The European Innovation Council (EIC) has launched top-down calls that encompass areas such as gene therapy, brain activity, engineered living material and inside awareness. Deadline: 27 October 2021.

The European Innovation Council (EIC) is a new feature within pillar III of the next European framework programme Horizon Europe. Pathfinder Challenges is a funding instrument within EIC. It is a top-down funding scheme targeted towards developing specific breakthrough technologies and innovations. Pathfinder targets projects early in their development phase (Technology Readiness Level 1-3).

Funding

Projects may request funding up to 3-4 million Euro. EU will fund 100 % of eligible costs.

Eligibility

The Pathfinder Challenges support collaborative research and innovation from
consortia or applications from single legal entities. In case of a consortium your proposal must be submitted by the coordinator on behalf of the consortium that includes at least two independent legal entities.
