Practical information for current Fellows
Information about research costs, reports and publications for current postdoctoral Fellows in the Scientia Fellows II programme (2019-2024).
The Scientia Fellows programme supports research costs up to 54 600 NOK per year of your fellowship. This sum is available at your institute and can be used in agreement with your Host. Research costs can be used for covering various expenses like:
- Costs related to your research (for example lab consumables)
- Conferences, network meetings, courses and other activities to enhance your career prospects
- Expenses for Norwegian courses
Any unused research costs financed by the Scientia Fellows programme can be carried forward and used in the next year. However, a part of the amount may be financed from other external sources, which have other requirements. We therefore ask you to consult your economy controller assigned to your research group and Host for more information.
Fellows must ensure Open Access (OA) to all peer-reviewed scientific publications relating to their results either by OA publishing or by utilizing Green OA repositories, such as DUO Research Archive (duo.uio.no) at UiO.
Fellows are expected to disseminate their results at various levels as widely as possible. In addition to OA publishing, this could be conferences, publics engagements or social and printed media.
If you have any questions related to OA, please contact The Open Access-team at the University Library: email@example.com
Acknowledgment on publications
All publications or other dissemination activities relating to project results, obtained during a Scientia Fellows II fellowship, shall include the following statement:

and display the EU emblem
Fellows are expected to submit project progress reports. There are two types of reports:
- Project progress report - To be submitted to the Scientia Fellows Programme Office (SFO) within 30 days after completion of each year of the fellowship.
- Final report - To be sent to SFO in the last 30 days before the end of the fellowship.
Please note: Fellows who have contracts for 24 months, are asked to submit progress report after month 12 and the final report before the end of the fellowship.
