Gradual reopening of campus
From March 23 and until summer, all teaching at the Faculty of Medicine will be digital. This also applies to all exams. More information can be found on My studies and in your schedules. See more information from UIO about studying at home.
Students should continue to study from home as far as possible.
Master's students and students enrolled in The Medical Student Research program can use the areas of the Faculty of Medicine as agreed with their supervisor.
From May 18 it will be possible to book seats in reading rooms in Sophus Bugges hus, Eilert Sundts hus, Idrettsbygningen and Georg Sverdrups hus. These reading rooms are open to all students, regardless of faculty and level of study. You can reserve your seat in TP: Room booking. More information about use of reading rooms can be found here.
All students must complete infection prevention courses before they meet on campus.
Students should not attend UiO, practice or job if they are ill or have symptoms of illness.
Students, even with mild respiratory symptoms and a feeling of illness, should not attend UiO. They should stay home until they have been symptom-free for 1 day.
Students in risk groups or living with people in risk groups should study from home.
It is encouraged to walk / cycle and avoid rush hour traffic if you have to travel by public transport.
- Hands must be washed:
- Before leaving home and when returning home.
- When you come to UiO
- When you have gone through doors that are not touch-free or pressed buttons in elevators and card readers or the like.
- After hosting / sneezing and drying of face / nose polish
- After a toilet visit
- Before and after meals
- After lab work or other activities where things are affected
- With visible dirty hands
- Alcohol-based disinfection (hand spray) is an option if no hand washing options are available.
- Students should as far as possible keep a distance of 1 meter between each other when staying in the same room.

Students who are living with a confirmed covid19 or have been in contact with an infected person during the past 10 days should be quarantined. See practical information from FHI about home quarantine.
Advise against traveling abroad
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs advises against all international travel that is not strictly necessary. Norwegian citizens already travelling abroad should consider returning as soon as possible, in a calm and safe manner, and in dialogue with their travel agency or airline.
You can call your GP, emergency room or SIO Health if you have questions related to your own health and coronavirus. If you want to use SiO Health as a GP, you must register this with Helsenorge.no. A switch will then take effect immediately. Contact SiO Health on: 22 85 33 00.
