Funding opportunities for early-career researchers within Circle U - deadline 30 November

For early-career researchers. 

Deadline for applications: 30 November 2022

The call is open for all disciplines and all partner universities in Circle U. For the application to be considered, the project must be compatible with one of the three core topics of Circle U.: democracy, global health or climate. It is not obligatory to show already existing contacts to any of the partners, but it is expected of applications to make clearly visible that the chosen destination contributes to the applicants' research project as well as the alliance. Humboldt-Universität will cover actual travel and accommodation costs according to the German Travel Expenses Act to a maximum of 5.000 Euros.

Two possible modes of funding are available where Humboldt-Universität has to be either the hosting or the sending institution:

*    PhD students and postdocs from Humboldt-Universität can chose one destination from one of the eight partner universities in Circle U.

or

*    PhD students and postdocs from one of the eight partner universities can visit Humboldt- Universität zu Berlin.

Please submit a short abstract of the research project (one page max.), a preliminary travel plan and expected costs to Dr. Klaus Wiehl: klaus.wiehl@hu-berlin.de

Funding for workshops, conferences and cooperation in research within Circle U. 

For early-career researchers. 

Deadline for applications: 30 November 2022

Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin enables students and early career researchers (PhD students and postdocs) to organize workshops, conferences and other formats of international cooperation in research in the period of January to November 2023. The call is open for all disciplines and all partner universities. For the application to be considered, the project must be compatible with one of the three core topics of Circle U.: democracy, global health or climate. Humboldt-Universität will finance mobility costs (travel and accommodation according to the German Travel Expenses Act), catering and speaker fees to a maximum of 5.000 Euros.

Please submit a short abstract of the project (one page max.) with a detailed budget to Dr. Klaus Wiehl: klaus.wiehl@hu-berlin.de
