Election Institute Board

The Institute has an Institute Board that advises the Institute's management.

The Board

The Institute Board at Helsam has 9 members:

  • Head of Institute
  • 3 representative from the permanent academic staff
  • 1 representative from academic staff on fixed-term contracts
  • 2 representatives from the technical-administrative staff
  • 2 studenter representatives 

Representatives of the temporary academic staff and the students are elected for one year (1.1.2022.12.2022). Students arrange their own elections. The other representatives are appointed or elected for a term of four years (2018-2022).

Election 2023

In the autumn of 2023, 1 representative and 2 deputy representative are to be elected from the academic staff on fixed-term contracts to the Institute Board, for the period 01.01.2024-31.12.2024-

The voting will open on Monday 27 November at 8 am and close on 4 December at 12 pm. Vote here.

Who can vote?

Academic staff on fixed-term contracts of minimum 50 percent, including Professor II on fixed-term contracts, are eligible to vote. You must be employed on the day you vote. 

Deadline for proposing a candidate

The deadline is extended to Monday 1 November 2021. 

Who can propose a candidate

Academic staff on fixed-term contracts, including Professor II on fixed-term contracts, with a right to vote. No one can sign more than one proposal.

Who is eligible as a candidate

Academic staff on fixed-term contracts, including Professor II on fixed-term contracts, with a right to vote are eligible to stand for election. To be eligible, one must be employed for a period that covers the whole period one is elected for, January 1st - December 31st, 2022. Leaders and deputy leaders of the institutes are not eligible.

The proposal must contain

  • You may propose one or more candidates
  • There must be at least the same number of proposers as the number of candidates in the proposal.
  • The proposal must contain the name(s) of the candidate(s), title and place of work at the faculty.
  • The proposal must state whether the candidate(s) have agreed to stand for election.
  • The proposal must contain the name, title and place of work for the proponent(s)
