Currently, states of over- or under nutrition underlie a considerable proportion of morbidity and mortality worldwide. Whereas overweight/obesity used to be confined to the developed countries, it is now expanding also within the developing world, countries that still battle with malnutrition and its dismal consequences for health. Nutrition, being a life-long "project", therefore mandates high-quality research.
