International conference on Culture and Global Mental Health

This meeting in Kathmandu, Nepal will bring together practitioners, researchers, and experts from diverse traditions to discuss the implications of religious and spiritual teachings for mental health theory, policy, and practice. The aim is to advance mental health programs in Nepal and globally in ways that are informed by local cultural knowledge, values and traditions.

The theme of the conference is "Culture, Spirituality and Mental Health", investigating how religion and spirituality can provide vital resources for coping with mental illness and promoting mental health, healing and well-being. 

The Centre for Global Health (UiO) are Co-sponsors of the event and Suraj Thapa, leader of the signatory theme Global Mental Health, is represented in the scientific committee.
