Background on Women in Global Health
Women in Global Health (WGH) is a global movement that brings together people of all genders and backgrounds to achieve the goal of gender equality in global and national health leadership. WGH provides a platform to connect, further strengthen and advocate for gender equality in global health leadership and meaningful participation within academia, civil society and the public and private sector. WGH Global is a collaborative space for leadership; facilitates specific education and training; gathers support and commitment from the global community; and demands change for gender transformative leadership.
Background on WGH Norway
As the national chapter of WGH, the network shares the vision of a diverse, gender-balanced leadership, which is key for achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). WGH Norway is an independent national chapter of WGH Global, launched in 2018. WGH Norway is establishing a collaborative space for leadership, policy dialogue, mentoring and mutual support, and will be working for the legal right to attain equal levels of female participation in leadership and decision-making related to global and national health, at all levels of society.
