Occupied Palestinian territory, cooperation from 1994-

The original aims of the cooperation (1995-protocol) were to establish the occurrence of diseases and investigate possible causes and risk factors of selected diseases in Palestine and to improve the health in society.

Objectives:

  1. To build and strengthen competence and experience in general-, occupational- and environmental epidemiology and occupational hygiene in Palestine.
  2. To encourage Palestinian researchers to plan and carry out epidemiological studies in Palestine.
  3. To stimulate Palestinian faculty members and health personnel / health planners to make greater use of epidemiological data, concepts and methods in the preparation, updating, monitoring and evaluation of relevant activities.
  4. To motivate Palestinian faculty members and health personnel / health planners to acknowledge epidemiology as a basis for building a rational Public Health sector.
