Reason for going and what we hope to achieve
At this final event, we are sharing our project findings directly with Europe’s policymakers and alongside Europe's leading voices, we will be addressing a critical question: What does it take to keep science trustworthy in Europe—and who gets to decide? Our goal is to share our findings directly with policymakers to shape practical guidelines that protect academic freedom and support researchers on the ground.
Previous Experience with the European Parliament
This invitation is a deeply meaningful milestone that builds directly on our previous experience at the European Parliament with the ROSiE project.
ROSiE provided a vital platform to institutionalize the European Code of Conduct for Research Integrity within open science, successfully translating localized research ethics into standardized, European compliance mandates for EU-funded consortia and equipping legislators with a comprehensive toolkit for a transparent, ethical research environment.
Now, the STOA workshop is the perfect stage to take those lessons further. By translating BEYOND's final insights into lasting policy, we are ensuring our community's voice helps steer a transparent, free, and deeply trusted future for European science.
