Opening hours and administrative staffing at IMB, summer 2022
See below for information about opening hours and services available at the Institute during the summer.
Please allow for longer response time and case processing times for your queries throughout the summer.
Summer working hours
Employees in technical/administrative posts governed by the flexitime scheme (with different working hours in the summer and winter respectively), have 7-hour working days from may 15 to September 14.
Access to the Domus Medica building
The building is closed all day and night from June 27 to August 5. This means that you will need to use your UiO access card and code in order to enter the building. No temporary access cards can be issued during this period, so make sure you always have your access card with you.
If you have problems with your UiO access card, please contact the Security Operation Center that is staffed 24 hours a day all year round.
Main reception desk
The main reception desk is open 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. all summer with the exception of July 11 to July 15. Deliveries of packages will be operational at the main reception all summer, including week 28.
Local reception desks will have reduced opening hours. Automatic replies from the respective desks will contain information about availability and alternative contacts.
Education management/study advisory service
The education management /study advisory service will not manned between July 4 and July 30.
HR and HSE
The HR/HSE section is staffed during the entire summer, except August 8 to August 12.
Please contact firstname.lastname@example.org for all inquiries relating to HR/HSE and a member of staff on duty will answer to your query.
Please note that we will have reduced staff during the summer and response time may be longer than usual.
The Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) coordinator will absent July 4 to July 30. Please always use the e-mail email@example.com to submit matters to HSE.
Finance, purchases and research administration
Staffing in the Finance Section will be reduced from 1June 5 to August 15, resulting in longer response times than normal during this period.
From July 18 to July 29 (week 29-30) all our project finance officers are away on holiday. We have a skeleton staff on hand to handle problems that cannot wait. The finance officers will stand in for one another during the summer months, and their automated out-of-office replies will inform you of whom to contact.
The research administration staff will be available throughout the summer.
A reduced number of staff will process applications for travel reimbursements and other expenses throughout the summer.
From July 15 to July 31 no hourly or assignment contracts will be approved. Processing these contracts will have to wait until August.
Communication and web editing
The Institute's Communications Adviser/Web publisher is unavailable throughout July.

Anatomy bequest program
The anatomy bequest program coordinator is available during the whole summer.
Section for Comparative Medicine
The Section for Comparative Medicine will remain open throughout the summer. Please allow for reduced staff. Access to the animal lab facility is restricted and granted to qualified staff only, based on submission of this online application (in Norwegian).

The Electronic Workshop is closed from July 4 to July 22.
The Mechanical Workshop is closed from July 11 to August 9.

The Section Manager for Internal Services is unavailable from July 11 to August 5.
