Academic interests
My research group “Cell stress and cancer” is focused on two main goals:
- to understand how autophagy is switched off in vivo and
- to unravel mechanisms of autophagy involvement in cancer biology
Courses taught
Background
I have a PhD with a specialization in Biochemistry, obtained in 2013 from the University of Oslo (supervisor Anne Simonsen), on the topic of Class III PI3K and PI3P-binding proteins in autophagy. Thereafter I did my postdoctoral training in Montréal, Canada, in the laboratory of Dr. Marc Therrien, a leading expert in cancer cell signaling. Thereafter I established a project group within the laboratory of Jorrit Enserink at Oslo University Hospital on autophagy and other cancer-relevant cellular pathways using mammalian cells, Drosophila and patient samples.
