Professor Rodolfo R. Llinás is Chairman Emeritus at the Department of Physiology and Neuroscience, New York University School of Medicine and holds the Thomas and Suzanne Murphy Professorship of Neuroscience.

The brain and artistic expressions

Research concerning brain function suggests that important cognitive functions, such as language and artistic expression, are related to the left and right hemispheres of the brain, respectively. This dichotomy while superficially valid is really a simplification, as cognitive functions always involves total brain activation.
