Vice dean for research and researcher education at the Faculty of Medicine at UiO.

My main responsibility is to lead the research program for medical students, the PhD program and the program for post docs. Our goals are to provide attractive and useful programs for researchers at all three levels in their careers.

Research is the cornerstone in renewal of knowledge, development of new methods for clinical challenges, basic research and challenges at societal level.

My background is from clinical medicine and more specifically mental health in children and adolescents. In my research, I have had a particular focus on mental health related to child abuse and traumatic experiences. I am a specialist in child and adolescent psychiatry and my PhD project was about post-traumatic stress reactions in children and young people exposed to such events.

Teaching 

  • Lectures/seminar for the medical studies in the 5th and 6th modules: anxiety and obsessive-compulsive phenomena in childhood. Seminar on trauma in children and young people. Seminar on child abuse. Team based learning about troubled children.
  • Teaches doctors, psychologists, nurses and other professionals in the subject area of ​​children and traumatic events, child abuse, disasters. Gives lectures at national and international conferences.
