Research Seminar - Interdisciplinary Research in Progress

On March 26, the K.G. Jebsen Centre for Brain Fluid Research gathered for a research seminar featuring presentations across projects and disciplines. The event provided an updated overview of ongoing work and the development of research at the centre.

Over time, these research seminars have become an established meeting point at the centre, where researchers present results, share progress, and discuss the future direction of their work.

Throughout the morning, participants attended a series of presentations highlighting different aspects of brain fluid research and advanced imaging techniques. Topics ranged from fundamental mechanisms to the development of new analysis methods and predictive models.

A broad range of research and methods

Among the presentations were studies on how fluid is transported from cerebrospinal fluid to the bloodstream. Work was also presented on predicting contrast uptake and clearance using machine learning. In addition, researchers shared findings on the movement of blood vessels in the brain in Alzheimer’s disease, as well as new methods for modelling how contrast agents are distributed in MRI images.

Participants also gained insight into the development of a shared glymphatic MRI database, which will make it easier to compare data across studies. Other presentations focused on measuring water transport across the blood-brain barrier using PET/CT, as well as analysis of MRI data.

The seminar highlighted how collaboration across disciplines is essential for advancing research. Discussions during the sessions and breaks also provided opportunities for new ideas and future collaborations.
