K.G. Jebsen Center for Specific Autoimmune Therapy
Our center conducts research into how the removal of antigen-specific B cells can be used to treat autoimmune diseases.
About the centre
The K. G. Jebsen Center for Specific Autoimmune Therapy is led by Professor Ludvig M. Sollid in the period 2026-2031 with support from Stiftelsen Kristian Gerhard Jebsen. The University of Oslo is the host institution with Oslo University Hospital and Diakonhjemmet Hospital as partners.
Our research
Deep B-cell depletion has been proven to be an effective treatment for autoimmune diseases. However, a disadvantage of this approach is that all B-cells are removed. Conceivably, the same effect could be achieved by only removing the B-cells that are involved in the autoimmune reaction.
