PhD dissertation: Arnar Gudjonsson
On March 12th, 2018, Arnar Gudjonsson successfully defended his doctoral thesis entitled: “Improving antibody responses of cDC1 targeted vaccines”. Arnar’s work was supervised by Bjarne Bogen and Even Fossum. Arnar's research has identified a method for directing vaccines specifically to dendritic cells for enhancements of antibody responses after vaccinations of mice. Specifically, targeting of dendritic cells in a way that does not promote rapid uptake and degradation of the vaccine will polarize immune responses towards antibody responses that can protect against influenza infection. This method of targeting may be applicable also to other diseases and vaccine strategies. Congratulations and well done, Arnar!
