NoPSC - Norwegian PSC Research Center
Primary Sclerosing Cholangitis (PSC) is a chronic inflammatory disorder that often leads to progressive strictures of the bile ducts and over time to liver cirrhosis. There is currently no efficient medical treatment available and PSC is one of the most common indications for liver transplantation in Scandinavia.
The Norwegian PSC Research Center aims to
- Facilitate high standard PSC research via prudent and targeted use of research funds
- Support the development and implementation of clinical tools and relevant drugs
- Run PSC biobanks and registries to strengthen high quality PSC research globally
- Promote research on critical disease mechanisms in PSC
- Enhance awareness on PSC and PSC research, and seek patient partnership when relevant
