To transform clinical psychiatry into precision medicine (precision psychiatry), it is necessary to improve diagnosis, prediction, and treatment. To address this issue, we are developing novel prediction and stratification tools leveraging multimodal data and artificial intelligence (AI) algorithms for precision psychiatry and improved prevention.
- We will improve polygenic and multimodal hazard scores (PHS/MHS), which incorporate multimodal data to predict the time of onset of illness, with initial studies focusing on early detection of Alzheimer’s disease (Desikan et al. 2017, Reas et al. 2023).
- We will apply new prediction tools, such as digital avatars, to investigate the clinical setting where they will be most relevant for precision psychiatry.
- We are involved in clinical interventions to test novel therapeutic interventions in psychiatry to improve treatment of mental illness and comorbidities. We have a series of clinical trials, including semaglutide, oxytocin, ketamine and cognitive therapies.
