Faglig bakgrunn

Utdannet generell og ortopedisk kirurg. Arbeidet med traumatologi ved sykehuset siden 1985 og som overlege fra 1991. Fra 1993 bygget opp spesialkompetanse ved sykehuset for rekonstruksjon av hoftleddet og bekkenet etter alvorlige ulykker. Etablert det samme fagområdet som en nasjonal funksjon ved sykehuset med virkning fra 2011.

Ledelseseerfaring fra 1991 i posisjoner fra avdelingsleder til divisjonsdirektør/klinikkleder ved Ullevål universitetssykehus og senere OUS .

Undervisningsområder

Multitraumatologi og ortopedisk traumatologi. Undervist leger som tar i mot hardt skadde pasienter (Advanced  Trauma life Support - ATLS)og ledet etableringen av kurskonseptet  i Norge og den samme organisasjonen fra 2004 til 2012, Deltatt i arbeidet med etablere den europeiske ATLS-organisasjonen.
