Our main focus is translational and intervention studies in schizophrenia and related disorders.

About the group

We study schizophrenia spectrum disorders at several levels in an integrated fashion, including clinical symptoms and signs, brain imaging, as well as molecular vulnerability and disease mechanisms. The research group has more than 15 years of experience in conducting researcher initiated drug trials independently of pharmaceutical industry.

The group is part of NORMENT and covers the Bergen Psychosis Research Group at Haukeland University Hospital and the University of Bergen. The group is headed by Professor/ Psychiatrist Erik Johnsen, and deputy leaders are Associate Professor/ Psychiatrist Rune A. Kroken and Professor/ Specialist in Clinical Psychology Else-Marie Løberg. The leader group also includes Clinical Coordinator/ MSc Jill Bjarke, Database Coordinator/ MSc Lena Stabell, and Biostatistician/ Psychologist Rolf Gjestad.
