In my postdoctoral project, I am exploring the underlying neural correlates of interindividual differences in auditory attentional control. Furthermore, my research focuses on the complex metabolic mechanisms of the blood oxygen level-dependent (BOLD) signal. In general, my work aims at developing “healthy human models” that can be translated to clinical research.

Cannabis use and early bipolar disorder

Bipolar disease is a psychiatric illness with incidents rates for about one per cent of the population. The debut is between 15 and 25 years old. The illness is characterized by pathological mood swings, of depressive, manic (hypomanic) character, with long periods of normal functioning in-between. The illness has high mortality rates.
