The study programme in Medicine at the University of Oslo is a six-year professional programme. 220 students are admitted each summer, 110 starting in August and 110 in January.

Please note that the professional programme in Medicine is taught almost entirely in Norwegian. Only our international semester, Module 6, is taught in English.

Information about admission to the programme is given in Norwegian only. The only admission on offer is the one for residing applicants through Samordna opptak, NUCAS. This application procedure requires you to be proficient in Norwegian prior to admission. Information on NUCAS in English. Please note that according to the categories listed on the NUCAS webpage, medicine is considered an undergraduate programme taught in Norwegian. Entrance requirement for admission to higher education consists of both education requirements and language proficiency requirements in English and Norwegian. In addition, medicine has specific requirements in mathematics, physics and chemistry.
