Health, health services and physical activity in individuals with intellectual disabilities

The main objectives of the project are to improve the level of physical activity and the health of youths and adults with intellectual disabilities.

About the project

A national multicenter study is designed to examine the health indicators and functioning of the individuals, and the findings will help with the improvement of health care services for the target group. A second study explores the motivational factors for physical activity, followed by a randomized controlled study that evaluates a person-centred program for physical activity with e-health support. An important aspect of this study is the involvement of service users. Two PhD-students are employed to carry out the project.
