The Nansen Neuroscience Lecture 2025 is given Friday 10th October at Det Norske Videnskaps-Akademi, Drammensveien 78, by Dr. Christoffer Clemmensen, Associate Professor and Group Leader of the Novo Nordisk Foundation Center for Basic Metabolic Research at the University of Copenhagen.
Despite the existence of physiological mechanisms to balance food intake and energy needs, the global obesity epidemic continues to escalate. Recent advances in understanding neural circuit signaling and the development of peptide-based therapies offer promising new strategies for achieving sustained weight loss and managing obesity-related diseases.

The Nansen Neuroscience Lectures (NNLs) are organized in conjunction with Fridtjof Nansen’s birthday to honour his fundamental contribution to neuroscience. Since 10.10.2010 they are part of the Academy’s yearly Nansen-celebration. The NNLs are given by speakers selected from the top tier of science research. Organizers: Linda H. Bergersen and Jon Storm-Mathisen in cooperation with the University of Oslo, The Nansen Neuroscience Network (NNN), and The Norwegian Academy of Science and Letters (DNVA).
