Molecular epidemiological understanding of the development of resistance and the spread of resistant microbes in the health service and society. I am concerned with epidemiological methods and the translation of basic microbiology and molecular biology (NGS) into diagnostics, treatment, and prevention of infections as well as the rational use of antimicrobials.
