The center aims to understand the biological mechanisms underlying weight regain and obesity relapse, identify individuals at risk, and develop strategies for sustained weight loss and long-term weight maintenance.
About the centre
The K.G. Jebsen Center for Obesity Research (CORA), led by Professor Yvonne Böttcher, is supported by the Stiftelsen Kristian Gerhard Jebsen for the period 2026–2031. The host institutions for the center are University of Oslo and Akershus University Hospital.
Our research
Obesity is a major health challenge worldwide, and keeping weight off after successfully losing weight remains difficult. Understanding the mechanisms of weight regain is important for developing better and more lasting treatments for obesity.
