The study comprised a sample of 831 patients receiving opioid maintenance treatment (OMT), investigating participants' experiences and satisfaction regarding their OMT medication. Additionally, the study explored potential correlations between satisfaction with their OMT medication, self-rated health, relationship with treatment providers, and other outcomes.
Participants who expressed satisfaction with their OMT medication reported fewer side effects, improved physical and mental health, heightened overall treatment satisfaction, and better collaboration with their treatment providers, compared to those who were dissatisfied with their OMT medication.
The study suggests that different patients benefit from different OMT medications, underscoring the significance of offering a diverse range of OMT medication options and involving patients in treatment decisions.
