About the project
The main aim of the project is to identify information sharing strategies used by doctors when they talk with patients and explore the details of how medical information is framed and what affects such framing choices.
Methods
The project COME INFO (Communicating medical information to patients: An evidence-based toolbox of strategies) consists of three sub-studies, a literature review, a detailed study of approximately 30 videos with a large exchange of information from 2007-08, and a study where we have collected new data of medical interactions from different hospital units .
An important point in this new study is that both patients and doctors have been interviewed to acquire a more complete picture of the background and consequences of the information sharing behaviors we observe.
Project status
The postdoctoral fellow started on 1 December, 2020 and it was completed on December 2024.
