About the Project
This doctoral research project at the University of Oslo focuses on therapists' countertransference reactions in the treatment of patients with personality pathology. The study is a prospective, longitudinal investigation conducted within the Section for Treatment Research at the Research and Innovation Department (FIA), Oslo University Hospital's Clinic for Mental Health and Addiction. Data is sourced from the anonymized quality registry of the Network for Personality Disorders during the period from 2010 to 2016.
Research Questions
1. Is there a correlation between therapists' countertransference reactions and patient characteristics?
2. Is there a connection between countertransference reactions and the patient's perception of therapeutic alliance?
3. Can countertransference reactions predict treatment outcomes?
