Helene has a PhD with a specialization in Biochemistry, obtained in 2013 from the University of Oslo (supervisor Anne Simonsen), on the topic of Class III PI3K and PI3P-binding proteins in autophagy. Thereafter she did my postdoctoral training in Montréal, Canada, in the laboratory of Dr. Marc Therrien, a leading expert in cancer cell signaling. She then established a project group within the laboratory of Jorrit Enserink at Oslo University Hospital on autophagy and other cancer-relevant cellular pathways using mammalian cells, Drosophila and patient samples.
