Introducing the faculty's new film

«You can now present what you do in a more engaging way than a traditional PowerPoint presentation. We believe this film truly showcases the faculty's breadth and strength», says Dean Hanne Flinstad Harbo.

The film is for all staff

Imagine giving a presentation – perhaps at a conference, a meeting with an investor, a partner, or a potential employee. You will likely wish to convey something about the institution you are part of. But what information should you focus on? How can you best highlight our breadth in research, collaboration with hospitals and the health sector, our talented colleagues, or our excellent core facilities? This is where we hope the film can prove useful.

We have also included the film in a standard PowerPoint presentation template, complete with key figures. This means you can simply add the rest of your presentation content.

Access and use the film

The presentation incorporating the film can be downloaded from the 'For employees' section.

If you have any questions about the film or the use of presentation materials, please contact the faculty's Communications team.

A product of broad faculty collaboration

Dean Hanne Flinstad Harbo took the initiative to create the film. Funds were allocated, and the process began in autumn 2023. A broad invitation was extended to all units across the faculty to suggest research environments that would be particularly well-suited for visual representation.

The response was overwhelming, with over sixty strong proposals received. Following a tender process and a careful selection, in which the Dean's office was significantly involved, fifteen scenes were chosen for the film. These include footage from ten of the faculty's approximately 275 research groups, alongside contributions from five additional units. While it was challenging to consolidate so many excellent suggestions, the film has been assembled to represent the full breadth of our activities.

The goal is for the film to remain relevant for as long as possible. Emphasis has therefore not been placed on individual people or specific groups, but rather on giving the viewer a sense of our key strengths.

«We are profoundly grateful to everyone who contributed ideas and volunteered to be filmed. Without their commitment, this would not have been possible. We hope the film will be a useful tool for all who represent the faculty, and that it helps to highlight the unique knowledge created here which contributes to future health», says Dean Hanne Flinstad Harbo.
