Our goal is for you to succeed academically and professionally in the programme you have chosen to attend. To achieve this, we have developed various initiatives and measures.
Learning Environment Survey
In Autumn 2024, a survey on learning environment and belonging was conducted for all students at the Faculty of Medicine. The faculty has developed the Learning Environment Report 2024 (PDF) (only available in Norwegian) which analyses the data from this survey.
Initiatives We Are Working On
The faculty has initiated measures based on the data from the Learning Environment Survey. See the initiatives we are currently working on.
TEAM Seminar
We aim to build pride and belonging in the study programme and provide our students with the tools they need to work effectively in teams.
As a first-year student in Clinical Nutrition and Medicine, you will participate in a TEAM seminar for your study programme. The seminar takes place off-campus, lasts for two days with overnight accommodation, and is an informal, accessible event where you get to know other students and your mentor. Together, you will explore the fundamental principles of teamwork and leadership.
The seminar includes both academic and social content, with the aim of helping you get better acquainted with your fellow students, learn to collaborate, and meet some of the lecturers you will encounter in your first semester.
The goal is to develop strong learning teams that can contribute to strengthening and further developing group teaching throughout the first year of study. At the same time, you, as students, develop skills in collaboration and leadership that you can carry forward in life.
Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) Training
The faculty has developed an HSE course divided into five modules. The course covers the value of a good learning environment, characteristics of a good learning environment, what you can personally contribute to the learning environment, the student's digital and academic responsibilities, and where to seek help in your daily studies.
National Surveys
Studiebarometeret (The Study Barometer) is a national survey sent out to over 70,000 students each autumn. The survey asks about students' perceptions of the quality of study programmes at Norwegian colleges and universities.
The Students’ Health and Well-being Survey (SHoT) is a survey that maps the conditions and frameworks for students' learning. Its main purpose is to highlight psychosocial aspects and how these affect the study situation and daily life.
