Academic Interests
I work on normative ethics and value theory, with a particular focus on population ethics. At ETHME, I am responsible for work on questions related to the badness of death, such as how bad death is for those who die, what makes death a harm, and how we should weigh mortality reduction against morbidity reduction.
I am also interested in the philosophy of mind and AI, applied ethics, and PPE.
Background
I hold a B.Phil. (master's degree) in philosophy from Wadham College, University of Oxford (2022), where I was a Norway Scholar. My master’s thesis addressed non-Archimedean views on intrapersonal aggregation. At the undergraduate level, I studied philosophy and economics at the University of Oslo and Mansfield College, University of Oxford.
Since completing my master’s degree, I have worked for and helped found Langsikt, a Norwegian think tank focused on emerging technologies, development aid, and global public goods.
